Betty Gore was killed by Candy Montgomery, who was her neighbor and friend. The case gained significant media attention due to its shocking nature and the involvement of two seemingly ordinary suburban housewives.

Betty Gore was found dead in her home, brutally murdered with an ax. Candy Montgomery was accused of the crime and stood trial, where she claimed self-defense. She alleged that Betty had attacked her during an argument over rumors of an affair between Candy and Betty's husband. Candy claimed that she acted in self-defense when Betty came at her with a knife, and she grabbed the ax to defend herself.

During the trial, details of the affair and the strained relationship between Betty and Candy emerged, painting a complex picture of the events leading up to the murder. The jury ultimately found Candy Montgomery not guilty of murder, accepting her claim of self-defense.

This case has been turned into several movies and even a mini series!

The Como Motel opened in 1956 as a somewhat quirky, yet futuristic style motel. The motel is what would have greeted many of the new tech workers that were relocating to Richardson. However, it is more recently remembered as one of the two locations that Candy Montgomery, and Allan Gore would secretly meet during their affair.
