A teenager was charged with murder in the deaths of four people found fatally shot in a Wichita house, and another man was charged with helping the teen avoid arrest.
Cornelius Oliver, 19, killed his girlfriend, Raeshawnda Wheaton, 18, at her house, as well as her roommate Dessa Ford, and friends Jermaine Levy and Quincy Williams, who were visiting the women.
“I love you, I love you.” These were Raeshawnda Wheaton’s last words, according to the man who took her life. Cornelius Oliver shot his girlfriend as she cowered in her bedroom, clutching a pillow. In the next room, three of her friends were already dead. Her roommate, Dessa Ford, had tried to flee but was shot before reaching the door. Jermaine Levy and Quincy Williams were executed with shots to the back of their heads while playing a video game on the couch. Wheaton saw her killer approaching and pleaded for her life.
Troy L. Bell, 32, was charged with one count of aiding a felony for allegedly helping Oliver avoid arrest.
