The Texas Blockbuster murder is one of those cases that feels frozen in the 1990s.
On April 4, 1994, two young employees, James Armstrong, 26, and Brad Lindsey, 20, were working the night shift at a Blockbuster Video store in Dallas, Texas. It should have been a normal closing shift at a familiar neighborhood video store. Instead, both men were forced into a back office during a robbery and shot to death.
The killer left with less than $400.
The murders shocked the Dallas area, especially because they happened in the Casa Linda area, inside a place where families rented movies and people stopped by without a second thought. For years, the case remained unsolved, leaving James and Brad’s families without answers.
Eventually, Leon David Dorsey IV was charged and convicted for the murders. He was sentenced to death and was executed by the state of Texas on August 12, 2008.
