Darlie Routier: Murder, Trial, and Ongoing Controversy

Darlie Routier is a Texas woman. She was convicted in 1997 for the murder of her two young sons, 5-year-old Damon and 6-year-old Devon. The boys were fatally stabbed in their home in Rowlett, Texas in June 1996.

During the trial, prosecutors argued that Darlie Routier staged the crime scene. They claimed it was staged to appear as if an intruder had broken into the home. They suggested that the intruder had attacked her and her sons. They also pointed to evidence that Darlie had financial problems and stood to benefit from her sons’ life insurance policies.

However, Darlie and her defense team maintain her innocence, claiming that an unknown intruder was responsible for the murders. They argue that the evidence against Darlie was circumstantial. They claim key pieces of evidence were not properly analyzed. These include bloody footprints and a sock found down the street from the crime scene. These pieces of evidence were not considered by investigators.

The case has garnered significant public attention and controversy. Many supporters of Darlie Routier claim that she was wrongfully convicted.
