Victim and Crime Scene Overview
Samantha Renee Patrick, 22, was found stabbed to death on September 12, 2002 in Yukon, Oklahoma. Her body was discovered in a grassy alley behind an Albertsons grocery store (Now Homeland) early that morning Yukon police noted there were no signs of a struggle or sexual assault at the scene, and it appeared her body had been dumped at that location after death.
LOCATION WHERE THE BODY OF SAMANTHA WAS FOUND

Patrick had last been seen alive the night before at the Flying J truck stop on I-40 and Morgan Road, a location she frequented. No graphic crime scene photographs have been released to the public; reports of the investigation come from textual descriptions in news and police summaries rather than published images of the alley or evidence. However, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) and local cold case groups have shared a few official photos and documents related to her case for public awareness.

Suspects and Law Enforcement Releases
Investigators have long suspected that Samantha’s murder was linked to a pair of interstate serial offenders. John Robert Williams – an Oklahoma truck driver later dubbed the “Truck Stop Killer” or “Big Rig Killer” – and his girlfriend Rachel Cumberland were identified as suspects in the 2002 Yukon case. While no one has been charged in Patrick’s murder to date, Williams and Cumberland were convicted in a separate Mississippi case and implicated in several similar murders of women from truck stops across Oklahoma and neighboring states. Law enforcement in Yukon and the OSBI publicly named them in connection to Samantha’s case during the mid-2000s investigations
